LLOYD CROSSES FINISH
LINE SECOND AT BRP; GETS DQ'D...
MARCH
10, 2013 - Ocala, Florida native Ivedent Lloyd, Jr.
ventured to the nearby Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida
on Saturday, March 9 for a $3,000 to win United Dirt Late Model
Challenge Series (UDLMCS) battle. Ivedent timed in second fastest
during the qualifying session, but later suffered mechanical
troubles in his heat race. After starting twenty-fourth on the
grid in the 50-lapper, Ivedent blasted all the way to the front
and grabbed the point shortly after the halfway mark in the
race. With fading tires, he eventually lost the lead with only
a handful of laps remaining and crossed underneath the checkers
in the second spot.
However, tech officials deemed that his
#21 machine was illegal in post-race technical inspection due
to a two inch intake spacer. This is the same spacer that Ivedent
has used for the past two years at Bubba Raceway Park and has
passed tech on each occasion. Despite claiming his side of the
story, Ivedent was disqualified from the race and his sterling
second place run was all for not.
